The Kallos Hostel is situated about 25 km from Cluj Napoca in Rascruci village, on the property of Kallos Zoltan Foundation. The village Rascruci used to be the property of the wellknown Hungarian count Banffy. They built the castle from Rascruci in the 19th century, where later on the famous Hungarian writer, Wass Albert was born. Today the castle houses a special school for handicape children, for this reason visiting the interior of the building is not allowed. The village Rascruci is also famous because of the Kallos Handicraft Art Collection. This is located on the property of Kallos Zoltan Foundation, about a few meters from the Kallos Hostel, and houses about 4.000 handicraft articles from Transylvania and from Moldova.
Each year durind the summer period the foundation organizes camps with different tematics: handicraft, folk music and folk dance camps for children, families and adults.
The Kallos Hostel is easyly reachable by train, bus, van or car in Cluj Napoca – Gherla –Dej - Baia Mare direction.
Facilities: coffetarie, parking place, green place where can be hold different types of activities, common room where may be organized anniversary parties, meetings, trainings. |
