Arad is county residende (Arad county), situated on the Muresul valley. The first documentary mention of Arad was under the name Arasinus, appears as Orod in 1131.Arad’s fortress (same fortresses were built in Timisoara, Alba Iulia, Oradea), houses between its walls the formal church of the garnison raised in baroque style. The administrative Palace, is the tow hall building, building which is emblematic for the Arad municipality. Religious monumental buildings are the Roman Catholic church, the Red church, the Serbian ortodox church. Some other valuable buildings in Arad city: The Palace of Culture, the Old Water Tower, The Museum of Archeology of History, the Art Museum.
The Swimming pool with thermal water situated in a huge green park is very appreciated by tourists and by the citizens.
